The Prof. Jit Singh Rural Veterinary Excellence Award stands as a prestigious national recognition dedicated to honoring field veterinarians who have demonstrated exceptional service, innovation, and commitment in rural and tribal livestock healthcare across India.
Named after the eminent veterinary surgeon and academician Prof. (Dr.) Jit Singh, this award celebrates not only his towering contributions to veterinary surgery, radiology, and education—but also his enduring role as a mentor, thought leader, and living inspiration to generations of veterinary professionals.
Prof. Jit Singh continues to serve the veterinary fraternity with unmatched dedication, and this award reflects his lifelong values of professional ethics, rural service, and scientific excellence.
Objectives of the Award:
- To recognize veterinarians working in resource-constrained rural and tribal areas.
