One-Day Free Anti-Rabies Vaccination and Rabies Awareness Camp – Government Pet Clinic, Golpahari, Jamshedpur
Date: 12th October 2025, Pashudhan Praharee

Today, on 12th October 2025, a one-day Free Anti-Rabies Vaccination and Rabies Awareness Camp was successfully organized under the aegis of the Government Pet Clinic, Golpahari, Jamshedpur. During the camp, 105 pet animals, mainly dogs and cats, were vaccinated with the Anti-Rabies vaccine free of cost.

The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Samarjit Mandal, District Animal Husbandry Officer (DAHO), in the presence of Dr. Rajesh Kumar Singh, In-charge, Pet Clinic Jamshedpur, Dr. Jyotindra Narayan (TVO, Kadma), Dr. Kundan Kumar (TVO, Birsa Nagar), and Dr. Suresh Jha (SAHO, Jamshedpur).

Several pet supplement and veterinary medicine companies and pet hostel operators participated in the event, showcasing their products and services based on the latest technologies and innovations in pet care. The event also received remarkable support from animal lovers and animal welfare activists of Jamshedpur, whose participation made the event truly successful.

Speakers at the event emphasized the grave threat posed by Rabies and the critical role of vaccination in preventing this fatal zoonotic disease. Rabies is 100% preventable but invariably fatal once symptoms appear, affecting both animals and humans. In Jharkhand, especially in Jamshedpur, the growing population of stray dogs has significantly increased the risk of rabies transmission. Therefore, regular vaccination, public awareness, and community participation are the only effective tools for prevention.

The camp was organized in alignment with the global observance of World Rabies Day 2025 with the theme “Act Now: You, Me, Community,” and the ongoing celebration of World Animal Welfare Week 2025, both highlighting the shared responsibility of humans and animals for a healthier and safer coexistence.
