Abstract
Homoeopathy, a holistic and natural system of medicine founded on the principle of “like cures like,” is emerging as a promising alternative in veterinary healthcare. With increasing concerns over antibiotic resistance, drug residues in animal products, and the sustainability of livestock production, the relevance of Homoeopathy in veterinary practice has grown significantly. This article explores the foundational principles of veterinary Homoeopathy, its practical applications across species, and its advantages such as safety, cost-effectiveness, and residue-free treatment.
The paper discusses successful treatment outcomes in conditions like mastitis, lumpy skin disease, canine distemper, and Neurological disorders, etc. in animals using Homoeopathic remedies. It highlights the growing global and national recognition of this system, while also addressing the challenges such as lack of awareness, limited academic integration, and the need for more research. Real-world case studies and field-level experiences further demonstrate the efficacy of Veterinary Homoeopathy.
The article concludes by emphasizing the need for a collaborative approach involving veterinary institutions, practitioners, and government bodies to integrate Homoeopathy into mainstream animal healthcare. Homoeopathy holds great potential for promoting animal welfare, ensuring food safety, and supporting sustainable livestock management in India and beyond.
