Dr. Shivang Swaminarayan of IDA joins Board of Advisors at ‘Gau Vishwa Vidyapeetham’

Gau Vishwa Vidyapeetham (GVV), Gandhinagar, Gujarat, on its foundation day, appointed Dr. Shivang Swaminarayan as a Member of its Board of Advisors, recognising his pioneering contribution towards integrative, sustainable and affordable healthcare approaches for livestock health, particularly Indigenous cow and dairy welfare. Dr Swaminarayan is IDA Member from West Zone.

Gau Vishwa Vidyapeetham is an emerging institution dedicated to research, education, innovation, enterpreneurship, skilling, indigenous knowledge systems and sustainable development centered around indigenous cow wealth, rural economy, natural farming, Panchgavya, dairy livestock health and holistic village development. The institution aims to integrate traditional Indian wisdom with scientific research for strengthening cow-based rural livelihoods and sustainable agriculture.

Dr. Shivang Swaminarayan has been actively working in the field of Homoeopathy and integrative veterinary healthcare with a special focus on affordable and sustainable health solutions for dairy animals. Through collaborative academic and institutional initiatives, he has contributed towards exploring the scope and evidence of Homoeopathy in cattle health, animal welfare and preventive veterinary care.

His work highlights the potential role of Homoeopathy in supporting management of Indigenous cow breeding, common livestock ailments, reducing dependency on excessive chemical and antibiotic usage, lowering treatment expenditure for farmers and promoting animal-friendly healthcare practices. Such approaches can contribute positively towards dairy economics by helping improve herd health, reducing treatment costs, supporting productivity and encouraging sustainable dairy practices. He is also member of CII National Taskforce on AYUSH.

Speaking on the occasion, representatives associated with Gau Vishwa Vidyapeetham expressed confidence that Dr. Swaminarayan’s experience in Homoeopathy, public health advocacy and veterinary research collaborations would strengthen the institution’s vision for integrative livestock healthcare and rural sustainability.

Dr. Swaminarayan stated that India’s dairy sector can greatly benefit from scientifically explored, farmer-friendly and sustainable healthcare models that complement existing veterinary systems while promoting welfare of Indigenous cow, affordability and long-term ecological balance.

The appointment is expected to further encourage dialogue and collaborative research in the domains of veterinary Homoeopathy, indigenous knowledge systems, dairy sustainability and integrative animal healthcare in India.
