International Visiting Professors hone skills of students at Vet Varsity

College of Veterinary Science, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana has invited various International Visiting Professors to pursue undergraduate teaching in B.V.Sc. & A.H. programme under the World Bank funded Institutional Development Plan project. It aims to enable productive international cooperation and exposure of our students for academic improvement and enhanced skill development. Presently, Professor Eduardo Bastianetto, Preventive Veterinary Medicine, Minas Gerais State University, Brazil is visiting Department of Veterinary Parasitology since February 20th and will continue to teach till March 24th. Professor Eduardo is an expert in the field of parasitic disease control and management particularly in buffalo populations. He has delivered several lectures on important parasitic diseases prevalent in the region along with an insight on the managemental advancements for its control being practiced globally. Practical classes with demonstration on various advance diagnostic laboratory techniques for sensitive and specific diagnosis of parasitic diseases in livestock are being conducted for our student. Dr. Jaswant Singh, Professor, Department of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences, University of Saskatchewan, Canada is visiting to the department of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics from March 15th to 25th, 2022. Dr Jaswant is an eminent scientist working on underlying mechanism of follicular growth, In vitro maturation and fertilization of bovine oocytes. He has delivered lectures and also demonstrated the procedures to undergraduate students in the area of bovine follicular dynamics, reproductive ultrasonography, embryo transfer technology and basic histology of reproductive system. The interaction with these distinct professors would be of immense help to our student in enabling them to get acquainted with the global contents and curriculum of Veterinary Science. The International Visiting professor teaching program would uplift the standards of teaching and help students to hone their skills in order to match with global standards.
