CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR, MAHARASHTRA | 29 OCTOBER 2026

Bringing together the interconnected disciplines of agriculture, veterinary science, biotechnology, food technology and dairy science, the MGM International Conference AGRI-VET-BIOFOOD 2026 is set to provide an important platform for scientific exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation. The three-day international conference will be held from 10 to 12 December 2026 at the MGM Agriculture Campus, Gandheli Hills, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.
The conference will focus on the theme: “Converging Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Biotechnology, Food and Dairy Technologies for One Health, Food Security and a Sustainable Future.”
Scientists, academicians, veterinarians, researchers, students, industry professionals, entrepreneurs and innovators from diverse scientific and professional backgrounds are expected to participate in this multidisciplinary event.
At a time when climate change, emerging and zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), food safety and sustainable livestock production are major global concerns, the conference aims to encourage integrated scientific thinking and practical solutions across interconnected sectors.
Veterinary Association of India: A Key Organizing Partner
The Veterinary Association of India (VAI) is an Organizing Partner of MGM International Conference AGRI-VET-BIOFOOD 2026, underscoring the importance of veterinary science and animal health in advancing the One Health approach, strengthening food systems and supporting sustainable development.
VAI is committed to bringing veterinary professionals together, promoting professional excellence, strengthening scientific collaboration and advancing the interests of the veterinary profession in India. Its activities encompass continuing veterinary education (CVE), scientific webinars, professional networking, national and international knowledge-sharing initiatives, and engagement with issues concerning animal health, animal welfare, livestock development and public health.
VAI is an Associate Member of the World Veterinary Association (WVA), strengthening its international professional engagement and opportunities for global scientific collaboration. Through its national initiatives and international connections, VAI seeks to facilitate meaningful interaction among veterinarians, researchers, academic institutions and allied professionals.
The association’s participation in AGRI-VET-BIOFOOD 2026 reflects a central principle: agricultural development, food security and public health cannot be addressed effectively without recognising the essential contribution of veterinary science.
Veterinarians play a critical role in disease prevention and surveillance, zoonotic disease control, responsible antimicrobial use, livestock productivity, animal welfare and the safety of animal-derived foods. Their contribution is therefore indispensable to the implementation of the One Health approach.
By participating in this multidisciplinary conference, VAI aims to strengthen the visibility of veterinary science within the broader scientific and technological landscape and encourage greater collaboration between veterinary professionals and other disciplines.
MGM’s Multidisciplinary Campus: Connecting Science with Society
The conference is being organised by MGM College of Agriculture, Biotechnology, Food Technology and Dairy Technology, along with the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Gandheli.
The technical partners include Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University (MAFSU), PDKV Akola and MGM University.
Established in 1982, the Mahatma Gandhi Mission Trust has developed an educational ecosystem encompassing multiple disciplines. Its Gandheli campus brings together agriculture, biotechnology, food technology, dairy technology and veterinary and animal sciences, creating opportunities for interdisciplinary education, research and innovation.
The conference’s broad vision is to connect scientific progress from soil to society and from animal health to human health. This integrated perspective recognises that sustainable food production, healthy livestock, environmental stewardship and public health are closely interdependent.
Five Scientific Pillars of the Conference
The conference invites research abstracts across five major scientific domains:
- Sustainable Agriculture
Climate-smart agriculture, precision farming, soil and water health, and sustainable agricultural practices.
- Veterinary Science and Animal Health
Emerging and zoonotic diseases, One Health, antimicrobial resistance, precision livestock farming, animal reproduction and genetics.
- Agricultural Biotechnology
Genomics, CRISPR technologies, microbiome research and biofertilizers.
- Food Technology and Nutrition
Food safety, functional foods, fermentation technologies and smart packaging.
- Dairy Technology and Engineering
Dairy processing, process engineering, automation and cold-chain management.
An integrated special session, “One Health in Action,” will further explore the connections between human, animal, plant and environmental health. The session is particularly relevant to the growing need for collaborative approaches to disease prevention, food safety and environmental sustainability.
Industry 5.0, Innovation and Emerging Technologies
The three-day programme is planned to include a plenary session on “Agri-Vet-BioFood Industry 5.0: Innovate, Integrate and Transform for a Sustainable Tomorrow.”
The conference will also feature an industry exhibition, a startup session and awards recognising scientific excellence and innovation. The proposed award categories include Best Oral Presentation, Best Poster, Young Scientist, Student Innovation and MGM Global Achievements Awards.
These initiatives are intended to encourage young researchers, promote emerging technologies and strengthen connections between academic research and industry requirements.
The industry exhibition and startup platform are expected to provide opportunities for innovators and entrepreneurs to present technologies, explore collaborations and discuss practical applications across agriculture, livestock, food production and allied sectors.
Opportunities for Students, Researchers and Industry Professionals
AGRI-VET-BIOFOOD 2026 offers a platform for undergraduate and postgraduate students, doctoral scholars, faculty members, veterinarians, scientists and industry representatives to present their work, exchange ideas and develop professional networks.
According to the information provided by the organisers, full research articles may have an opportunity for publication in a Scopus-indexed journal. Authors should independently verify the journal’s identity, indexing status, peer-review requirements, publication charges and acceptance conditions with the conference organisers. Conference participation or abstract acceptance should not be interpreted as a guarantee of journal publication.

Pashudhan Praharee Appeals for Active Participation
Pashudhan Praharee invites veterinary professionals, veterinary students, academicians, researchers, animal scientists, livestock-sector entrepreneurs, biotechnologists, food and dairy technologists, and industry representatives to participate actively in this important scientific initiative.
The challenges confronting modern food and livestock systems require collaboration that extends beyond traditional disciplinary boundaries. Effective zoonotic disease prevention, antimicrobial stewardship, animal welfare, safe food production and sustainable livestock development depend on the combined expertise of veterinarians, agricultural scientists, biotechnologists, food scientists and environmental researchers.
The participation of the Veterinary Association of India as an Organizing Partner reinforces the importance of integrating veterinary science into wider discussions on food security, sustainable agriculture and public health.
For young veterinarians and students in particular, the conference offers an opportunity to present research, interact with experts, explore emerging technologies and build professional connections across disciplines.
AGRI-VET-BIOFOOD 2026 represents an opportunity to transform scientific dialogue into collaborative action. By bringing agriculture, veterinary science, biotechnology and food systems together, the conference can contribute to a more integrated approach to One Health, food security and sustainable development.
Pashudhan Praharee encourages the veterinary and allied scientific communities to make the most of this platform by sharing research, presenting innovations and building partnerships for a healthier and more sustainable future.
