World Bee Day is observed on 20th May each year—yet many of us remain unaware of its significance. This is not just another commemorative day; it is deeply connected to our very existence. Honeybees are not merely producers of honey but are fundamental to our food systems and global biodiversity.
Since the dawn of human civilization, honeybees have silently contributed to maintaining ecological balance. Their discipline, teamwork, and efficiency have always been a source of inspiration for humankind.
🌱 Role in Pollination and Food Security
Honeybees and other pollinators are directly responsible for pollinating nearly 30–35% of the world’s crops, including fruits, vegetables, oilseeds, and nuts that are essential for human nutrition.
Without bees:
– Agricultural productivity would significantly decline

– Risks of malnutrition and health disorders would rise
